Cannot empty delete folder

Under my email address (e-mail address removed) I am unable to empty the items in
the deleted folder. It comes back and tells me that there is an unknown
error and the actual junk email says that the message cannot be displayed.
Can you help me with this problem?

swap out the .pst file for the recycle bin, just make sure you have
windows mail closed at the same time and you should have no problems! if
you are looking for where the folder is stored just do a quick google
search and you'll find it

Looks like you are confused about which email program she is using.
In this newsgroup, we normally discuss Windows Mail, which doesn't
use .pst files to store the email and even has trouble importing .pst
files if Outlook isn't installed on the same machine.

Outlook stores its messages in .pst files.

I doubt that Windows Mail can read the recycle bin, either, but this
is the first time I've seen anyone suggest you should set it up to try.
