Why is it difficult to obtain a simple Answer to a simple problem like SIMPLY
DELETING AN INBOX EMAIL??????????
Either I am very Stupid or I have been duped into believe Windows Vista 2007
was a superb software.
Does anyone have any simple answers to simple problems SUCH AS DELETING AN
INBOX EMAIL which usual says "An Unknown Error Has Occurred?"

Are you able to repair your car when something goes wrong with it?
If not, why do you expect computer fixes to be so simple that anyone
can do them?

If you use non-compatible software, and it 'gums up' the computer,
you can expect that complex repairs will be required.

I am having the same problem, and it says to check my memory and disk space.
I did that, and all is fine. It is only one message, and I cannot get it
out of my inbox.

Hi,

All you have to do to delete an e-mail Inbox item is to left-click on the
item as it appears in the Author-Subject column and drag it to the "Deleted
Items" in the Local Folders column. The Item will be moved to this new
location upon release of the left button on your mouse.

Andre

Once I got the solution (it was in another series of posts for the same
thing) I couldn't get back to the thread where you provided the link to the
Hotfix on the Microsoft website.

I'm delighted to say it worked a treat.

Many thanks for your help.

PS - maybe posting the link here would help these good people?

Thank you, I will try it.

Hi Kathy,

Read the "First" section in this tutorial about antivirus programs to
help prevent this from happening again, and then install the KB941090
Microsoft Update to fix the stuck message.

Use this Microsoft fix:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090
"Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a
computer that is running Windows Vista"

Although Outbox is the only folder mentioned, it will remove stuck
messages from all folders.

This problem is usually caused by running non-compatible
third party security software.

Go to www. microsoft.com and search for KB941090. Click on the top item and
download the patch that will solve your problem.

Hi. Being completely computer illiterate can I safely assume that all I have
to do to get this download is to click on the link? If it is much more than
this then I am well and truly stuck!

G

Gary VanderMolen

Not quite. That link gets you to the Microsoft description of the fix, which
then has two separate download links, one for 32-bit Vista and another for
64-bit Vista. Most people have 32-bit Vista, so use that first link.

What a ridiculous response. Can't fix your car? Must have incompatible software.
