Cannot delete from Outbox

I have a rogue email in my Outbox when I use Windows Mail, which I cannot
delete.
When I use Win Explorer to look at the Outbox folder, there is no .eml
record. I have tried putting one in, but obviously it doesn't match the
header.

How can I delete this email? I have tried deleting the folder itself, as I
would in Outlook Express, but Win Mail is different, in that when it creates
a new Outbox, it knows all the emails that shouild be in it.

and take care to follow the instructions.

If Windows Mail is open, or if a current WinMail.exe process is running, the Database functions are disabled, and the WinMail.exe process must be terminated before these features can become available. (If WinMail is closed and these buttons still remain disabled, then perform a CTRL-SHIFT-ESC, and under Processes find WinMail.exe and click on it, and then click the End Process button.)


(Not because the utility is dangerous but that all the functions,
particularly the one you need, ie. "Clear outbox"
aren't made available unless you do.)

Doug,

I and several other people have had the same problem. Go to

www.oehelp.com/wmutil

and download Steve's utility (follow Steve's directions to save to your
desktop). Then use the utility (after unzipping) to compact your e-mail and
the problem will go away. Then, in the future, compact your e-mail every
time the dialog box appears asking if you want to compact your e-mail.

I am having the same problem. I just bought this computer a month ago and
went to vista. I have spend many hours on the phone and nobody can give me a
solution. I am not finding this site helpful either since nobody is finding
a solution.
