Cannot delete file

Martin

I cannot delete a avi file. It's almost a GB in size. I
have deleted similar large files since and that works.

The following message appears when I try and delete:

Cannot delete download1064215057249869743: It is being
used by another person or program. Close any programs
that might be using this file.

I can't find anything that might. THe file was
originally partially downloaded using Kazaa. I then
moved the file and tries to rename it. It wouldn't play
so I tried to delete it. But I can't.

Help!

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Martin,

Close Kazaa and try deleting the AVI file using Windows Explorer. If this
does not help, see:

The clue could be in the "originally partially downloaded using Kazaa".
Deleting it in while in safe mode should work.
(IE probably thinks it has to finish the job that you originally gave it :)

Remove kazaa and P2P from startup and then restart the system and delete
the file.

To remove from startup, perform the steps given below:

1. Start | Run | Type msconfig and press enter
2. Select Startup
3. Remove any entry related to Kazaa or kpp or p2p
4. Click OK
5. Restart the system.

Now delete it.

Or go to safe mode and delete it.

Press F8 at system startup
select Safe Mode.
By default admin password is null(no password)
Go to that folder and delete it.
