Cannot connect xp machine to NT Server

I am trying to connect some new XP machines to our NT Server but I cannot get
it to connect to our domain. I have managed to connect old XP Pro machines
without any fuss. I've tried the method of trying to connect via the
COMPUTER NAME section and CHANGE tab. When I go thru that and type our
domain name, it pops up with a box asking for user account and password which
is allowed to add computers to domain. I type this in, like I've done in the
past, and it gives an error, "the specified domain either does not exist or
cannot be found". Can somebody enlighten me on what's going wrong here.

Alfie

Alfie,

Check the DNS settings. Windows XP uses DNS to locate Domain Controllers.

1) Ensure that the XP clients are all configured to use the domain DNS server.
If you're using DHCP on your LAN, the DHCP server should point to the DNS
server.

2) Ensure the domain DNS server is configured to permit dynamic updates. Ensure
the DNS server points to itself as a DNS server.

3) For internet resolution, specify your ISP's DNS server not on the individual
clients, or on the DHCP server, but in the forwarders tab of the DNS server.
