cannot close IE 6

Hi,I am unable to close(X) the IE. I know we can do it
from cntrl+alt+del but why cant from closing the browser
by doing X on the top right hand side corner. Please can
some one advise.

This is probably being caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite)

Or...
A legitimate program running in the background may be causing this. Disable
(for diagnostic purposes) programs such as pop-up blockers, toolbars,
security,
anti-virus, etc. You may have to reinstall, or not reinstall, a program.
