Are you sure you are putting in a blank CD? Maybe, you burned music on it
before, and forgot that you had. So, maybe you should play it before you try
and burn anything, and see if you did.

Thanks for your response. I downloaded the freeware as you suggested, but
when i attempted to open from file, the software was not there. Software was
installed, don't know what happened. I won't be needing the freeware anyway,
I adjusted speed in WMP & everything is fine. Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for your suggestion to go to microsoft support. I followed directions
to adjust to lower speed, and can now burn and rip music to cd's
sucessfully!!! Thanks again.

I'M having the same problem. I 've cleaned discs, tried new discs, and
lowered the recording speed. Nothing fixes this problem. It just started
yesterday. Previously I have had no such problems. Anyone know what to do
now? WIN XP HOME SP2; WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 10

Do other programs burn? Is it just WMP that won't burn CDs?

I can't burn data cd's either, even from the Operating System. But, I tried burning an audio cd using Music Match and it did burn the cd. I've tried burning a cd again in WMP10, and it acts like it has gone through the burn process, Says "Burning In Progress", & when it gets to the last music file, Up pops the C00D11AB. I've tried the solutions from Microsoft's help page and other newsgroups, but have had no luck yet. Thanks for your reply.

It sounds like your drive might be on the way out. You managed to get it to
work once in Music Match? But most of the time it will not burn at all? Does
it work best, more often I should say, right after a reboot?
