Adding music tracks to a CD

I have Win XP Prof and Win Media Player 10. I downloaded 5 music tracks from
the internet & burned them using Media Player 10. Having tested they were
working ok, I decided to add more tracks and burn these also, but the Player
wouldnt let me do this. Kept wanting me to put in a blank CD.

I tried both a CDR and CDRW. Surely I should be able to "add" the odd
track. Or should you only "burn" a CD when you want to fill up a CD?

In the past I have added music tracks using Nero Express very easily. But
the purchased tracks only allow me to use Win Media Player.

Any help or advice anyone?

Thanks.

You must have finalized the burning of the CD-R which allows it to play
on a CD player. If you do not finalize you can add files to the CD-R, but
the CD will not play in a CD player. You can use CD-RWs to add or
delete music files but they will not play on a CD player nor your car,
and probably will only play on your PC for they are data CDs, not
audio CDs.

Thanks for your reply. Umm no, I didnt finalise anything. In the past I
have always used Nero Express, but because the downloaded music files were
"protected", it would only open (for burning) in Winds Media Player. Ive
never burnt this way before, but followed the instructions, ticked the boxes
and it just, well....burnt. No other buttons were pressed. So Im at a bit
of a loss. I can only think that I have to burn just the one session at a
time, therefore I should have enough music to fill up the CD. If that makes
sense.

But because I live in France and we only have dial up, with no broadband in
sight, I think I had better buy my line dancing CDs via the web, otherwise my
class will be without proper music.

Ive gone to the website you suggested. My what a lot there is to this
burning!

Thanks again.
