Cannot Block Google Talk from Startup Program List

I blocked Google Talk (googletalk.exe) from being allowed in the startup
program list and it fails to block it. I haven't had any other programs fail
to be blocked but yes, everytime I run Google Talk it puts itself back into
the Startup Programs and is not blocked by Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta1.

This is expected behavior. Google Talk doesn't qualify for intervention by
Windows Defender, according to terms listed here
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/isv/analysis.mspx

So, although you can block any program on a one-time basis, it will be
allowed to reinstall itself if it isn't listed as something which qualifies
for removal.

Windows Defender is concerned with code which crosses the lines in the white
paper above, not things which you've chosen to install, have clearly written
Eulas, and are easily uninstallable.

RealPlayer is another object which behaves in the way you saw with Google
Talk.

You can use group policy settings to prevent an arbitrary executable from
running on your machine, if you really want to take the trouble.
