Cannot adjust the volume level.

I cannot turn up, down, and mute the sound level on my
computer. I went to Start->Programs->Accessories-
Entertainment->Volume Control, and it gave me the
following message.

"There are no active devices available. You may install
mixer devices from Add/Remove Hardware Wizard in the
Control Panel"

I downloaded Windows 2000 SP4, and it still does not fix
the problem. Any idea how I can resolve this issue?
Thank you so much for your advice. Have a good day.

Hi there.

Are you able to remove the soundcard from device manager
and re-install it with the latest drivers? Have you
updated the drivers for your computer? See what happens....
