Can you upgrade from Windows 2000 professional to XP

I currently have Windows 2000 professional on my computer
and I was wondering if I can update to Windows XP home
edition (I have the complete CD for XP). Would these two
versions of Windows be compatable?

W2K Pro can only be upgraded to XP _Pro_.
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=292607 Upgrades are a bad idea anyway,
imo, so if I were you, I'd buy a new hard drive, remove your current drive,
install XP Home on your new drive, install the programs you use, reinstall
your old hard drive as a secondary drive, and either copy over your personal
files, or continue to use them as they exist on your old drive.
