Can you move a PST file from Outlook 2002 to 2003?

Hi,

I am wondering if I did this right. I am trying to move my PST file from one
computer to another. On my first computer, my Outlook is version 2002. The
new computer has Outlook 2003 installed. Everytime I open my Outlook on the
new computer, it seems to hang for about 10-20 seconds before it opens, or
Outlook will just crash and stop responding. All I did to move the PST file
was simply "MOVE" it to the new location on the new computer. I did not do
any export or import functions. Was that incorrect? Is this the reason for
my Outlook crashing everytime or running extremely slow?

Thanks in advance to those who can help.

Delete your current pst file. Copy your pst file to your
new computer and then import it. This should take care
of this issue for you. If it doesn't, you'll have to
reinstall Outlook and then import your old pst file.

First, disable Mesenger integration by unchecking "Enable the Person Names
Smart Tag" at the bottom of Tools>Options>Other. Also, you say you moved
the old PST to the new location on the new computer. How did you move it?
Did you put it on a CD? Did you copy it over a network? If the former, did
you remove the "Read-Only" attribute? Did you overwrite a PST that the new
Outlook created? If so, that could be your problem and you'll need to
create a new profile (with Control Panel's Mail applet).
