Can you bold, italic, etc. email w/ keyboard shortcuts vice tool bar buttons?

Outlook 2000
Can you format email text (bold, italic, etc). from the keyboard using
shortcuts (like in work) rather then having to use the toolbar buttons?

Ctrl+B and Ctrl+I work as formatting shortcuts in almost every Windows application.
