Can`t Get My Volume Control Icon To Show

J

James

My volume icon dosn`t show in my taskbar, even though I right- clicked
an open space in the taskbar, then clicked properties/ customize, and
the volume reads "always show",
howevver it is now under "past items". How do I get it under "current
items", and do you think it would show then?

Try this: Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices ->
Volume tab. See if "Place volume icon in the taskbar" is checked.

To display the volume control icon in the notification area
Open Sounds and Audio Devices in Control Panel.
Volume tab | Select the Place volume icon in the taskbar
check box | Click Apply | Click OK

If you get this error:
Windows cannot display the volume control on the taskbar because the Volume
Control program has not been installed. To install it use Add/Remove
Programs in Control Panel.
