can only save files as bmps

HELP!!! I can only save files as bmps. I went to
http://www.coribright.com/Windows/Article Seven.htm and
followed the directions there but it didnt help. now
what ???? please

I have the same problem, all the sudden every image I try to save only comes up as bmp. This is recent. I used to save every thing as jpeg, and just occasionally found one or two bmps. Now everything comes up bmp
