Hi

I have looked after a solutions to this problem the last few days but
without luck...
I have saved some pictures along the time from the WEB through my IE 6.x /SP2
(and before the SP2 update ofcourse) using the the right-click on a picture
and then saved the picture as "oooo.jpg" or whar ever the picture was named.
But without any reason I got last week - when using the "save picture as" -
this message:
Name: "untitled"
Format: ".bmp"
And I can not change it.

I have looked for an answer and found these:
Artikel no.: 810978 + 250747 + 260650

I have done what the 810978 artikel tells me/us to do, but I still have the
problem!!!

Any one with a solutions to this problem?

I have seen that other earlier have talked about this problem, but the
solutions that they was given - I have done without any luck, so I stay in a
new situation and this is also under the new SP2 update package!

Friendly regards

Temporary Internet files are usually the culprit.
Maybe something is being missed, have you
tried navigating to the folders and checking
the content?

Here's one way: Right click your Start button
and from the menu...choose...Explore...drill
down to...C:\Documents and Settings\Your
Account\Local Settings\Temp....and Temporary
Internet Files. Empty the Temp and Temporary
Internet folders.:

If you cannot find your Local Settings Folder...
go to...Tools / Folder Options / View tab...and
tick...Show Hidden Files and Folders / Apply / OK.

Delete everything in your Temporary Internet
Files folder and also empty your recycle bin.

Hi John

Thanks for your help, but I did not have any problems with finding the
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Account\Local Settings\Temp....and Temporary
Internet Files

I normally once every day - just in case - make the clean up under the
Internet Options/general pane.

And normally I have not any problems in fact I have never tried this before.

But after you wrote to me I went in to the folders and looked in their
properties and here I sav that Internet temp... did have cache on 17.4MB.
And after I did the deleting there was still 15.6MB left and that was very
strange. Normally there would be max 2.5MB left. So I logged out as User no 1
and back in as the administrator in safe mode.
And then I went through all the "Temp" and "Internet temporary files"
folders under all the settings on my computer. And then there was only
16-44KB left in these folders.
Then I logged out and back in as User no. 1. After that I tried to go online
and found a picture and tried to save picture as.....
And this time it worked as it should :)))
The picture was a zzz.jpg file and I got same name in the "save as" box.

But it is strange that there are 15.6MB after a deleting process for no
reason at all.

So the solution in my case was not just to delete everything in Temp - and
Internet temporary files folders - as I normallly do.
But I did have to login as administrator in safemode and then make the
deleting.

Very strange ....

But now I know what I have to do on my "Personal Computer (= PC)" next time
I experince this problem.

But thanks to you and others for the dialoque :)

Friendly regards
