Can I use an ftp access for the access database?

I work from home and have an employee that works from her home. We are trying
to share the Access Database between us, but she is currently trying to
access it from an ftp to my network drive on my computer. I am finding out
that this is not the way to do this, but not sure if I need to purchase
Sharepoint Server or if there is a cheaper way to do this. I appreciate the
help.

Another alternative is to build a small ASP.net application.

this would work if your Access database is not too complex.

www.caspio.com (which I have absolutely no affiliation with, just a
suggestion) offers a MS access to web tool.

In Access, ftp is read-only for text files (CSV and maybe XLS) only.

In Windows, you can ftp a file back and forth, use the file when
you have it - is this what you are trying to do? What problem are
you having?

Another free thing you can try is setting up a VPN (Virtual Private
Network) between you, then using SQL Server Express edition
with Access. The SQL Server database replaces the tables in
your MDB - you will be automatically linked to it if you use the
upsizing wizard to convert your MDB.
