Some time ago, I got an external USB connected hard drive that I use only for
data storage. Since then, besides the folders where I keep my data stored,
folders have appeared titled $RECYCLE.BIN, msdownld.tmp, Recycled, RECYCLER
and System Volume Information
Just before making this post, most of 'em deleted OK, System Volume
Information will not delete.
The folders where I keep my data total 55G. 250G minus 55G = 195G. My
Computer sows the free space of my external hard drive as being 175G. 195G
minus 175G = 20G of space that System Volume Information is taking up.
I want to know two things.
One, how do I get rid of the System Volume Information folder on my external
hard drive and make my system keep all system folders to the main internal C
drive? I got the external hard drive for data storage only, not for my system
to use it like a closet when there's available space on the main internal C
drive
Two, how do I keep unwanted system folders from returning?
Additionally, when I right click on Recycle Bin in My Computer and select
Properties, it will not let me make any adjustment, up or down, to "maximum
size of recycle bin (precent of drive)" to the external hard drive, much less
down to zero, which is where I want it for that drive
data storage. Since then, besides the folders where I keep my data stored,
