Can I Edit and/or Delete Windows Update History Entries

S

Susan

I have the latest XP Windows Update service installed. What is the file
name and location of the Windows Update History file and where is it
located now?

Is it possible to edit and/or delete history entries that are in error or
no longer relevant? And if so how or with what? It would be remarkable if
Notepad could now edit this file. :)

If I can't edit certain entries I would rather delete the file and start
over again. Any special way that needs to be done in?

Thank you.

%windir%\SoftwareDistribution

I do not think you can edit this information.

Either delete or rename the SoftwareDistibution folder. A new one will be
created the next time you perform an update via Windows Update or Automatic
Updates.
