We cannot Boot becaus:

When we enter the recovery Console, after entering "r" we
are asked to type in the "installation number" - What ist
this?

Most people have only one installation on their machine
of Windowx XP. So, your installation number is probably
1, unless you have an unordinary setup of some kind.
