Is there any way to get the Local Dick (C:) to show on the start menu so
that sub-menus open up like they do for Programs, Favourite, Documents etc.

Im using the Classic Start Menu...but thanks. Im not sure why this is not
easy to do since it would be so useful and I wouldnt have to keep opening
Windows Explorer everytime I want to look for something. Does anyone know
any tweak apps that might allow me to do this?

You can add My Computer as a cascading menu to the task bar. Right
click on a blank area of the task bar, click toolbars, then New toolbar.
Highlight My Computer. Click ok.

I've dragged and dropped the desktop My Computer icon to the Start menu -
dropped it into the upper area over the Programs - and have a cascading menu
which sounds like what you want.

Easiest way is not to mess with the Start Menu. Right click the Windows Explorer entry on
the Start menu/Programs/Accessories/Windows Explorer, left click Send To:/Desktop (create
shortcut). When the short cut for Windows Explorer is on your desktop right click it,
left click Properties, and on the Target line replace what's there with:

%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n,/e,C:\

Then when you double click that shortcut Windows Explorer will open to the C drive with
its folders expanded. If you want access to that when another program or other programs
are open, and it isn't convenient to get to your desktop: Right click an empty area on
your taskbar, left click Toolbars/Desktop. That will put: Desktop >> just to the left of
your Notification Area (formerly System Tray). When you left click on the >> a menu will
open with all of the shortcuts that are on your desktop, and you can click on Windows
Explorer from there to access the contents of your C drive.
