C:\Documents and Settings\Miller\Local Settings\TEMP

Miller

I just want a clarification as I know this subject has
been covered here before.

I have over 1.5 Gig in my "C:\Documents and
Settings\Miller\Local Settings\TEMP" folder.
Is it save to delete all the files after startup and is
there a way to minimize the alowance.

I want to point out though that this is NOT
the "Temporary Internet Files" folder, it is the "TEMP"
folder in above mentioned location.

Thx in advance

Yes, its safe to delete. Use disk cleanup to remove the unwanted files from
the hard disk.

.
and there is also another hidden temporary folder that
can accumulate a truck and a half of files...

at command prompt type " %temp% " then enter - that will
call and open the hidden folder...it holds all kinds of
things...i clear mine out about once a week just using
edit/select all/delete...no problems

That is exactly the folder I mean Duane. So I can safely
delete the contents of this folder then.
Thx Ramesh, when I run "Disk Cleanup" it doesn't find
the "TEMP" folder, only the "Internet Files" Folder and
the other regulars. Can I include it in the "Disk
Cleanup"? I don't understand why a sofisticated OS such
as XP pro doesn't delete it's own TMP files after a
certain period.

Any thoughts??

Thx again
