Bypass Compact on Close

Is there a way to bypass the compact on close feature, similar to holding the
ctrl key down, so an autoexec macro doesn't run?

Go to Tools > Options... then choose the General tab. Uncheck the box for
Compact on Close. This will turn it off for All databases, but this is a
good thing. Compact on Close does more harm than good. If you really want
a feature like this, you can write one yourself that is much safer and gives
you an automatic backup.

On my website (www.rogersaccesslibrary.com), is a small Access database
sample called "CompactDatabase.mdb" which illustrates how to do this.
