buttons not working in IE6

V Bradley

Hi there,

I have IE6 ver 6.0.2800 with SP1, running on WinXP SP2 Home Ed.
I have a weird prob which I can't find any similar problems to on the
internet.

I have 3 users, 2 of which have this prob. We are all administrators.

When I (and the other user) open IE 6 and go to search pages (such as
google, or yahoo), and type in a search criteria, when I press the Search
button on the webpage, nothing happens. This type of problem also occurs on
pages that have buttons to browse the site. However, this prob doesn't
occur with the 3rd user of this PC. No probs at all.

I noticed it started happening a couple of days ago. Seems to be around the
time when I installed a shareware game for the kids which had ad support in.
I have since uninstalled the game, and also the adware behind it. I don't
really know if it's related.

Please help if you have any ideas.

All users are administrators, and all internet option settings are
identical.

Thnks

Chances are that your problems are being caused by commercial parasites.

Use Ad-aware and Spybot to scan your system, then reboot. If you still have
a problem, or just want to make sure, use HiJackThis! and visit the
SpywareInfo forums for further help.
