Burning VCD

I tried to burn a movie into VCD format, that means I
need to split the movie into two separate files in order
to burn, otherwise the file is just too big.
However, I don't know how to split a full movie... can I
do that in Windows? or I need another software? and how
do I do it?

Thank you

Full instructions on this and anything else to do with VCD/SVCD & DVD-R can
be found at www.dvdrhelp.com. For VCD your movie file will need to be in
mpeg1 format and the file CAN be larger than the capacity of the disc by a
reasonable amount as long as the running time of the video file is less than
90 minutes as a general rule, 45 minutes for SVCD...

An 8gb AVI file can happily be burned as a VCD.... your third party software
will re-encode it to MPG-1 format and the resulting size will be less than
the 700mb
that will fit on your VCD.

Timewise, it's roughly 52 minutes in length for a VCD and 38 minutes for an
SVCD.
