Build My Own

D

Diaboyos

I am finally going to try and build my own system. I'm no novice but no
pro either. Someone got a good site that I can browse with what to look out
for while doing this? Thx.

O'reilly's book "PC Hardware in a Nutshell" is something to take a look
at. http://www.hardwareguys.com/ talks about this stuff also.

Why not do what everyone else does? Do a search on google. I got 1,270,000
hits by typing "Build my own PC".
Since this is an Off Topic question, this is probably where any or most of
your replies would come from anyway.

I also like www.tomshardware.com for general info and reviews. They
have up to date reviews for motherboards and also list features
included. Like others have posted, I also recommend a board with
built-in sound and Lan. Saves PCI slots and maybe $. I also have had
good luck with www.newegg.com for components.

www.intel.com has a lot of good stuff.

| I've heard a lot of good things (personally, and reviews)
about
| www.tigerdirect.ca and www.tigerdirect.com for parts.

I didn't think you could be directly from Intel. I know A LOT of
manufacturers will allow you to buy right from the sight, but I didn't know
Intel did that. Perhaps I should look harder. How are the prices compared
to a retailer?
