Bug report: Allowing execution of .bat files switches current directory

Mark Dionne

Bug report:
1) Create a new .bat file script and run it.
2) Click Yes when asked by AntiSpyware if you want to
allow it to run.
3) Script runs, but the current directory has changed to
Windows/System32
4) Run it again. This time current directory is correct.

Is this the suggested fix? Do I rename the .bat file and
how do I tell it to run? Can a semi-non technical person
do this? thanks, J.

No, it's primarily a bug report. The *workaround* is to
run it again, or disable script blocking (click on Real-
Time protection, Application Agents, scroll down 1/3 of
the way, and deactivate the Script Blocking checkpoint).

I agree. If you use such scripts regularly, disabling the script blocking
agent is the way to go at this point. There's real risk with this issue. I
do wish we had a better way to warn about it.
