BSOD WinXP Home 0X000000C2 no Recovery Console

I've got a Toshiba Laptop with WinXP Home and am getting the BAD_POOL_CALLER
Stop error with [0X000000C2 0X00000043 0XC2A3D000 0X00000000 0X00000000], and
when I boot with the XP cd and attempt to load the Recovery Console it gives the
same error!
I can remove the drive and slave it to another unit to get the dump file, but
am not certain what to do to find out the offending file (driver) to be able to
fix this. Probably a parallel install, but would like some suggestions from the
community on my best course of action... I've never had one that prevented
getting into the Recovery Console before.

On another forum it was suggested that this was a hardware failure, but in
the MS knowledge base it points to a failing driver, although it doesn't say
which one, so I ran some hardware diagnostics.
I've run Micro2000's "MicroScope 2005" diagnostics on the hardware and it
passes all tests with flying colors, save one - "unable to power off CPU Fan" -
which I have seen before on laptops as normal when powered from the AC adapter
and is not likely to be the cause of this Stop Error.
Now what?

One more item discovered, I mounted the hard drive as a slave on another
system and found that there is no page file, therefore - per the knowledge
base - there is also no memory dmp since a pagefile is required! I had also
selected it to create a bootlog but it did not do so.

HELP!
