BSOD- npfs.sys file?

J

John F.

I keep getting the 'blue screen of death' on my Windows XP computer
and it says the file 'npfs.sys' is the problem.

The BSOD says specifically:

STOP: (0xC0000005, 0xF95E5F13, 0xF2c13B60, 0x00000000)

npfs.sys - Address F95E5F13 base at F95E1000, Datestamp 3b7d837b

How do I find out which program or hardware device is using that file
so I will know who to contact to see if an update is available for
that file?

That is your Named Pipe File System.
Check to see what program may be accessing that service.
