I have spent better part of last two days researching problem and following
all instructions/info. provided on PChuck blog.
I have three computers - all run XP SP2
- Computer A wired to router and running NSW/NPF 2006
- Computer B destop wireless and running NSW/NPF 2006
- Computer C laptop wireless and running NSW 2003 - no firewall.
All have Windows Firewall disabled.
- Have verified all three have properly configured stacked protocols
- NPF has been configuedd for proper access on A & B
- All necessary services are enabled on A, B & C
- Have used Registry Editor to confirm all necessary keys as per PChuck
instructions.
- Have disabled Computer Browser on B & C and only have it enabled on A. I
believe this makes A, the wired desktop, which is basically running 24/7, as
the Master on the Domain.
None of the computers sees each in Explore Workgroup Computers.
A can access the shared drives of B & C. A can access the shared printers
of B. There are no printers hardwired to C
B can access the shared drives of C. B cannot access the shared drives or
printers of A
C can access the shared drives and printers of B. C cannot access the shared
drives or printers of A.
Running IPCONFIG on all three checks out OK
Running Browstat on all three responds for all three as follows:
"Browsing is NOT active on domain.
"Master name cannot be determined from GetAdapterStatus"
Anythoughts are appreciated.
