needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I've seen several references to the same problem. I tried
to send a report but it won't cuz my browser isn't working
(obviously.

I serched the FAQ area but can't find a reference.

Surely someone knows how to get my browser working again.
Thanks in advance for your help.

John,
From Control Panel> Internet Options> Advanced uncheck "Enable third party
browser extensions." That should allow IE to open.

Run CWShredder from http://www.merijn.org/downloads.html It's been
the most helpful with this problem. It may be the only cleanup program you
need this time. CWShredder is only about 125 KB so it could be downloaded
from another machine onto a floppy disk.

Search for and remove other malware and note the security tips at:
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

You should re-enable browser extensions after the cleanup.

I might have a fix for you. I had the same problem until
just a few minutes ago. Apparently there was some
spyware loaded on my machine that was causing the
conflict. I had Spy-Bot loaded on my machine but had not
updated. When I updated it and ran the program to
eliminate the problems it found I was able to open
Explorer again.
Step 1 - You will need to open Explorer in another way.
I opened the Recycle Bin, selected Favorites on the tool
bar and clicked on any one of my favorites. This should
get you out to a site.
Step 2 - Make sure you have the address tool bar open.
Step 3 - Type in www.spy-bot.net.
Step 4 - Download the software
Step 5 - Run the program

I will check back to see if you were successful.
