Boycott Vista

As with any OS a clean install is the preferred method.
And I don't know what Jon Acord is talking about but he is way off.

Vista filled with spyware from Microsoft?
Can only install twice?
Only good for 1 pc?
Can't install 100 times?

Please dont confuse me with original poster Jon Acord, I have the same
name but nothing else in common.

Anyways, being in the business, I also found doing a clean install of
Vista, just like any other Microsoft OS always works the best. While
Microsoft is not perfect in any sense of the word, you have to give
Bill Gates credit for taking us where we have never would have gone

That's precisely the problem with Vista. Microsoft believing they need
to "show us the way..."

No they don't.

How about you open your eyes, look around, and *YOU* decide *on your own*
where *you* want to go?

Chances are your on this board using some form of Microsoft OS, While I

Check my headers:

User-Agent: KNode/0.10.4

stephan@ubuntu:~$ uname -a
Linux ubuntu 2.6.17-11-generic #2 SMP Thu Feb 1 19:52:28 UTC 2007 i686
GNU/Linux

So, wanna rephrase that? =)
like my XP pro, I know it, most bugs are out of it, everything is
compatible with it, just like when I was used to my Win98, I was not
looking forward to the change of Win2000. The Bottom line is I have
only changed 1 of my 8 computers over to Vista so far, there will be a
time I am going to have to convert more, only for the reason of knowing
Vista inside and out to fix any problem I come across with my customers.
I remember when Windows 95 first came out and I was using the
pre-released version and some computer other guys said I was foolish,
while they were running there systems on Windows 311, and said they
were sticking with that. Yes about every Microsoft new Operating system
has problems, and normally the first service pack stabilizes it, but
where would we be without the XP, 2000, 98, 95, 311? Do you think the
computers would be in most homes as they are today?. Do I agree with

Possibly in a much better place. =)
allot of things the Microsoft Corporation does, NO, but I say again,
they have taken us farther, faster then anyone else. Personally I don’t
see why ANYONE would take any computer and upgrade it to newest OS, I
just feel for the most part, new OSs are meant for new machines,

Buddy, I have a new-high end machine I have custom-built sitting right here.
XP is a dog on it compared to Linux....
Vista compared to linux? I really have no need to tie a boat anchor to my
processor.
Typically the newest Operating system wants you to have more space,
power and memory, That’s just the way it is, remember all the cussing

No, that's not "just the way it is". It is the "Microsoft way it is"
about Windows XP, People were trying to put it on machines with 32 megs
of ram, but you will always find people who always want the latest and
greatest Operating system and try to upgrade a not new machine. If you
don’t like Microsoft, you do have other choices, just not as good

I like my choices just fine and far better than Vista.
as
choices though. I don’t know Vista real well yet but most likely in
few years (disregarding Win ME) when the next Operating System comes
out after they have all the bugs out of Vista, people will be wanting
to stay with Vista……. Best of luck :)

I won't be one of em. =)

let me see if i can understand this i spent 260.00 on ultimate .i buy a new
hardrive and so cant do a drive to drive copy so i have to use another
activation privilage maybe my last1 dont know just to upgrade the hardware on
my computer so i can run vista even better.heres what i think microsoft has
gotten so big and have tiny competition that they dont have to concentrate on
the customers satisfaction.instead they limit the activations increase the
hardware requirements.why?ill tell ya why money.limited activations means
some fool will probably buy another copy or cd-key to use vista again and
this also means that more people buying more computers because of the
hardware requirements.sounds kinda like our president when he had his
presidential campaign funded by oil companies.then to pay off the favors owed
we go to war for no reason essentially then gas prises shoot through the
roof.so other words the people are and have been paying for our presidents
campaign favors.why would microsoft be any different?

Where do you come up with this FUD?
You can install a full version of Vista innumerable times on the same PC.
You may have to make a phone call, at worst.

"i have to use another activation privilage maybe my last"
Not true.
You can install and activate an unlimited # of times on the same
computer.

As for "increase the hardware requirements"
It is not as you suggest.
Hardware requirements have increased with every version of Windows,
and is nothing new to Windows Vista.
There are several things driving hardware requirements and $ is
probably not near as big a reason as you think.
Users probably drive them as much as anything.
Users ask and demand more of there computers all the time.
Games is a big driver.
People continue to want more from their games which drives hardware
and software.
