Bouncer

I ran (payable)SpyBouncer before, and since I also run MS
Antispyware, it detects VirtualBouncer.
Once VirtualBouncer removed by MS Antispyware, SpyBouncer
became kind of linked to MS Antispyware, and when
starting Spybouncer, parts of this program needed
reinstalling before running.
Could it be that VirtualBouncer is part of SpyBouncer?
At the end, I removed SpyBouncer, and VirtualBouncer
didn't show up anymore.
Is this a false positive, or is there more on hand?
Hidden adware?
Has anyone similar experience?

The kind of "linkage" that you report is not uncommon here, and has mostly
involved some completely innocent and unconnected with spyware program.
I've been under the impression that this happens through some foible of the
Windows Installer--and the remedy you took--uninstalling an app--is one
route to fixing it.

You might want to read what this article, by a respected researcher in the
field, has to say about the product you mentioned:

Symantec has this description of Virtual Bouncer:

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/adware.virtualbouncer.html

They don't link it with SpyBouncer, and I don't have any information that
would do so--but your experience does make one wonder....
