I recently bought Windows Vista Premium and found the disc missing along with
the cdkey. I went back and they told me to call MS. They told me to call them
up and give them my Certificate of Authenticaion number and MS will give me
my cdkey to install. Problem is, I dont have the disc either.

This is not a Microsoft issue - if the store you bought the product
from supplied you with an empty box as you describe - go back to the
store end take it up with them.
If you bought a TV and got home to find an empty box - would you ring
the manufacturer or go back to the shop to get the goods you paid for
?

The certificate of Auth. is on a sticker on the top of the plastic case on
the copy I bought from Best Buy not on the DVD.

Is there a COA on the case?
Open the case and turn it over, the Product Key should be affixed to the
back side of the compartment.
If the key is not there, is there any evidence a key was ever there?
The key is difficult to remove without leaving some evidence that is was
there at one time.

If you have the COA, Microsoft may be able to send you a CD and Product Key.

But the best and quickest is to return it where purchased and insist on an
exchange or refund.

Please disclose to this NG the identity of the vendor from which you
purchased Vista. Needless to say, I will not entertain -any- thoughts of
buying Vista from that vendor.

Thanks,

Lang

Some stores have ''display only" items on the shelves. Go back to the store,
with the receipt,
and see if somehow, you ended up with one of those. Follow the advice
already given about
looking for evidence of the Key sticker. Good Luck.
