I am trying to work on a laptop for another family member however I am having the following issues.

- can't run msconfig
- can't run regedit
- can't find the control panel (it is Really gone! and nowhere to be seen!!)
- Internet doesn't work
- Built in Wireless card doesn't work (turn it on and laptop bluescreens)
- Can't install any program on pc or remove it. (can't remove because there is no control panel!)

Any ideas what could be causing these issues? i'm totally stumped and think nothing short of reformating it will solve it within decent time.

A good anti virus and firewall program installed and running once you have re installed might be a good idea .

Do you have a virus checker, spyware remover install?

You may of install a tweaking software what does this?

But we do need more information on your laptop.

If not yes a re-format would fix all this ,just make sure you back up all your data first.

i would immediately put spyboy search and destroy on it and an antivirus. One of those scans or both HAS to find something....then you have a better starting point on finding out whats causing the problem.
