Blurring problem when using PowerPoint slides to make a movie (DVD

G

Guest

I am trying to make a video presentation based on my PowerPoint presentation.
I have PowerPoint 2002 and Pinnacle Studio (video editing software). I
saved PPT slides as .JPG files and imported them into the video editing
software. The problem is the slides are blurred. I wonder if anyone know
how to get clisp pictures just like I see them in PowerPoint. Is there any
way to generate high resolution (perhaps photo qulaity) pictures out of
PowerPoint?

Sandy,

Thank you for the information. I went to the linked site, and downloaded
and used the Image Exporter, however, I still get blurred letters. Is there
anything else I could try?

Thank you,
Point Man

Did you read the part in the FAQ about changing the export image resolution
via a registry edit?

I have read infromation under another link named "HOW TO: Change the
Resolution of a PowerPoint Slide That You Export As a Picture" in the linked
page. Is it what you are referring to? It specifically says the instruction
is for PPT 2003. I have 2002 (XP). Does it work for 2002 as well? When I
read the warning langauge "at your own risk (of destroying OS)," I did not
even want to try it without knowing it may or may not work with 2002. Also,
the linked page Sandy gave me says, "For PPT 2000 and 2002, the Magic DPI
Number is 72." Does it boild down to that there is no way to improve the
picture quality?

I looked through the Microsoft Knowledge base, and could not find anything
different than you have already found. I would go and have a look at the
registry and see if the options for 2003 would work for 2002. If they do I
would set a restore point and then make the change if it didn't work you
didn't hurt anything, as you can restore to your previous setting. If it is
only a one time deal, you might find someone with 2003 and have them export
for you.

Writing the author of ImageExporter. And you've done that, smart fella. ;-)

Let's see what we can work out.

I have added the registry with 307 dpi. Then tried .jpg, .bmp, png. Also,
tried what someone suggested: make larger slides in PPT, convert them to
pictures and then shrink them before feedining them into the video editing
application. Also, tried with and without ImageExporter. None has worked.
I downloaded a demo version of something called "PowerVideoMaker
Professional." I tried it just to compare the qualities of video images. It
created clean video images. I appreciiate your trying to help me, but have
I exhausted what I could try?

If it is not already there have you tried increasing your screen resolution
to see if that may make a difference. I know that used to work in an earlier
version.

From what you described in email, it sounds as though each method has produced
clean images -- if the images are viewed in a picture viewer or the like; the
problem seems to be with Pinnacle and how it handles the images.

Are there any options settings regarding images in it?
