Hi!

I´ve tried to install Microsoft Keyboard Elite for Bluetooth and Microsoft
Intellimouse for bluetooth.
The Bluetooth Support Service wont start, not even manually.
What can cause this?
There is no bluetotth icon in the control panel.
In the device manager everything seems to be okey.

Running Windows XP With SP2

Thanks for the fast reply.
I ´ve already tried that....
Is there any more known issue?

There was not SP1 in my Windows XP version from the begining!

I don't know where to start.

Hi again!

This thing didnt help either.
It was already selected...
Is there any way to "reinstall" the whole bluetooth stack and software or
any way to repair it?

Something is very strange in this computer...

Do you have Bluetooth on the computer? Since there is no bluetooth
(Bluetooth Devices) in the Control Panel, this makes me wonder if the
computer has bluetooth at all. Did the Microsoft bluetooth keyboard and
mouse come with a USB Bluetooth adapter, or do you have Bluetooth on the
computer (built-in the motherboard)?

Hi!

Yes of course the keyboard and mouse came with an small black ms bluetooth
usb adapter.
Windows can recognize it and installs it without any problem.
In the device manager i can see that there is bluetooth devices.
But the Bluetooth Support Service wont start. And there is no icon in the
control panel.

It works on another computer also with windows xp sp 2. So you can be sure i
know what i do =)

Since I never used nor bought a bluetooth keyboard/mouse combo before, I was
not sure if the bluetooth adapter had been included the package. I thought
I would ask. :)

My suggestion would be to try uninstall the device driver(s) for the
bluetooth devices and start over. Possibly boot in to Safe Mode and remove
the device drivers, and then boot in normal mode to see if bluetooth
properly installs.

My bluetooth usb dongle in XP SP2 (Windows XP MCE 2005 Rollup 2) had
problems at first installing bluetooth until I reinstalled the driver. That
is when Bluetooth Devices showed up in the Control Panel.

Check to see if the Service is listed in the MMC console.

Start ---> Right Click on My Computer ---> Select Manage ---> Locate
Services section.

Hi
Check to see if the Service is listed in the MMC console.

Start ---> Right Click on My Computer ---> Select Manage ---> Locate
Services section.

i looked for any services with bluetooth* or bt* name running as service but
there are not any.

I have this same problem. "bluetooth devices" does not show up in my control
panel. My bluetooth phone can see the laptop, but that's about it. I also
checked the Services section, and it's missing anything called bluetooth. I
also checked the Microsoft support page, and found the "fix" problem #894035,
but that assumes that I have the bluetooth item listed in my Services
section, which I don't. Can anyone help?
