To whom can help,
I had to take a picture of the error to find out what it said because the
computer would start right away.......here's the message " A problem has been
detected and windows has been shut down to prevent
damage to your computer.A device driver attempting to corrupt the
system has been caught. The faulty driver currently on the kernel
stack must be replaced with a working version. If this is the first
time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer,if
this screen appears again, follow these steps:Check to make sure any
new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new
installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any
windows updates you might need,if problems continue, disable or
remove any newly installed hardware or software.Disable BIOS memory
options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to
remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to
select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.
Technical information: *** STOP: 0x000000C4 (0x00000090,0xFFDFF120,
0x00000000,0x00000000)" I have not a clue what to do before I have to call
the computer manufacture.Please help...

Initially try Safe Mode / Last good...........
If that doesnt help
Try Safe Mode
BTW did you update any drivers prior to this happening?
Are there any yellow exclamation marks in System/Hardware Devices?

DL,
I did check in my device manager after clicking show hidden devices there
was a problem with aspi (I believe) the yellow excalmation, so I disabled it
and restarted. Still had a yellow exclamation after restarting, so I
uninstalled it,but then it was gone, was hoping that it would restore itself,
the code error was 24. I called my comp. manufacturer and tried to see what
they could do.They told me to reinstall xp, to press alt + F10,but that
didn't work. Then they told me to use the cd's,to put the computer to "boot
from cdrom" did that but I was getting another error,"CDR101: Not ready
reading drive x
Abort,Retry,Fail?"
So they told me to go to their website to update my bios and get an update
for my graphics card (an ati radeon which I had had problems with) If you can
get back to me as quick as possible if you have any clue how to fix this
without reinstalling(after you read this if it helped) I would appreciate it
a lot. Thanks.

Does the PC boot in safe mode?
ie as soon as pc starts continually hit F8 key, until it bleeps at you or
Safe Mode menu screen comes up.
A PC tech telling you to update bios / reinstall winxp at this stage, is no
advice at all.

I ask again did you update any drivers / install any hardware?
