Blue Screen error message OXE2590410, OX00000000, OX8055159A, Ox00

P

paulagan

I was in the middle of playing ScrabbleBlast on MSN when a message came up
saying that an update encountered a problem. Then MCAfee screen came on and
said computer wasn't protected. I tried to do a fix, but it couldn't resolve
the problem. Next thing, I get this Blue Screen which says:
PAGE_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.
Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to
use safe mode to resolve or disable components, restart, F8, Advanced< Start
UP, Safe Mode.
Tech info; STOP: OX00000050 (OXE2590410, OX00000000,OX8055159A, OX000000001)
If a driver is identified, disable the driver or check with manufacturer for
driver updates. Try changing video adapters."
After all of this, I tried to reset the computer to April 30 in safe mode,
hoping this would resolve the issue, but I think I made it worse. Now the
computer is not even recognizing the wireless adapter, even though it's
plugged in. I still can't get past the Blue Screen, and I can't even shut
off, without unplugging the Tower. Is there any help, or do I need to buy a
new computer? I have a Dell 8400 with Windows XP

Are you are able to boot in safe mode?

Do you have important data files you need to recover? If yes backup to
CD first!

What exactly do you have by way of a Windows XP CD?

Check the hard drive for bad sectors by running chkdsk /f /r

Check the System log of Event Viewer for Error Reports.

Please post copies of all Error and Warning Reports appearing in the
System log in Event Viewer for the last boot. No Information Reports or
Duplicates please. Indicate which also appear in a previous boot.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? Right click on

Gerry,
Thank you for trying to help me. I have to use a different computer to
respond to you, because I can't do anything with mine. First of all, in
answer to your questions, 1.)I can't get into safe mode, 2. I can't run
CHKDSK/f/r because it won't let me type in anything and the mouse freezes, 3}
In Device Manager, nothing at all shows up and nothing is in yellow. When I
click on Device Manager, the screen comes up but it doesn't list anything, 4}
I couldn't paste to e-mail the things listed in Event Viewer, but here's a
basic rundownof everything that had a red flag or warning: under Application
Error Records 512.0 kb , it listed, CRYPT 32, Service Control Manager, MC
Log/Event; WARNING-W32 Time, error Java Quick Starter Service and another
Warning for Service Control Manager. Under System Error Records it listed
SideBySide, Net BT, Service Control Manager, D COM, Ntfs, and Systen Error.
Is there any hope?
Thanks for your time. Paula

I need to be clear exactly how you are accessing the computer and what
you can do.

Before booting again disconnect all hardware peripherals except
keyboard, mouse and monitor? That may help booting.

How are you accessing Event Viewer? Is it in normal mode?

In the System log you mention NTFS. What is the Event ID number? Is it
52 or ?

What is your computer make and model?

Do you have a Windows XP CD? How is it described on the face of the CD?

Hi Gerry,
The only way I can access this computer is to unplug it and re-start it.
Sometimes it goes right to the Blue Screen, other times it lets me into MY
Computer or the Start, and if it does let me in, it only lasts a sort time
and goes right back to the Blue Screen.

It is in normal mode, it won't allow me to use Safe Mode.

The number after NTFS is a 2.

I have a Dell 8400, BIos version A03, Also, Windows XP Home Edition,
Version 2002, SP3. Pentium (r) 4 CPU 3.20 GHZ, 3.19 GHz ,1.00 GB Ram.
Unfortunately, I don't have my disc here, it is in storage. I recently moved
in with my daughter and most of my things are packed away.
BY the way, I always get a message that says my wireless adapter isn't
connected, but it is.
Any other suggestions?

Hi Gerry,
I'm sorry to keep pestering you. We checked the capacitors and everything
looked fine. I have done everything you asked me to.

The only thing I haven't done is "Disable BIOS memory options such as
caching or Shadowing" which was on the Blue Screen. I don't know how to do
this. Could you tell me how?

If that doesn't work, should I bite the bullet and get a new computer?

Thanks,

Re: how do i disable bios memory options such as caching or shadowing?

Congrats on your first post to HWA.

These controls are located in a part of the system called "BIOS
Settings", "BIOS Menu", "CMOS settings", "CMOS setup" or some similar
variation. This should be covered in your user manual.

You usually enter "BIOS Settings" menu by pressing a specific key or
keys during the beginning of the boot-up process. The specific key(s) to
press are usually mentioned in a corner of the display as the system
boots. They should also be in the manual. It is sometimes the "F2" key,
or "Del", or a combination like "Ctrl+S" keys.

Once you've entered the menu, you'll see it provides many parameter
settings organized in "pages". Basically, walk through the on-screen
prompts until you see the settings having to do with cacheing and
shadowing.

Every system and even current BIOS version has a different way to
present these data, so we generally can't give you a specific
keystroke-by-keystroke set of instructions. Again, your user manual
should detail this information.

If you don't have a current user-manual, you should be able to go to the
motherboard or system manufacturer's website to download a copy. It will
usually be in .pdf format which will (in order to be able to read it)
require a free .pdf reading application like Adobe Reader or Foxit.

this, I tried to reset the computer to April 30 in safe mode,
hoping this would resolve the issue, but I think I made it
worse. Now the computer is not even recognizing the wireless
adapter, even though it's plugged in. I still can't get past
the Blue Screen, and I can't even shut off, without
unplugging the Tower. Is there any help, or do I need to buy
a new computer? I have a Dell 8400 with Windows XP

Gerry,
Thank you for trying to help me. I have to use a different
computer to respond to you, because I can't do anything with
mine. First of all, in answer to your questions, 1.)I can't get
into safe mode, 2. I can't run CHKDSK/f/r because it won't let
me type in anything and the mouse freezes, 3} In Device Manager,
nothing at all shows up and nothing is in yellow. When I click
on Device Manager, the screen comes up but it doesn't list
anything, 4} I couldn't paste to e-mail the things listed in
Event Viewer, but here's a basic rundownof everything that had a
red flag or warning: under Application Error Records 512.0 kb ,
it listed, CRYPT 32, Service Control Manager, MC Log/Event;
WARNING-W32 Time, error Java Quick Starter Service and another
Warning for Service Control Manager. Under System Error Records
it listed SideBySide, Net BT, Service Control Manager, D COM,
Ntfs, and Systen Error. Is there any hope?
Thanks for your time. Paula

Hi Gerry,
The only way I can access this computer is to unplug it and
re-start it. Sometimes it goes right to the Blue Screen, other
times it lets me into MY Computer or the Start, and if it does
let me in, it only lasts a sort time and goes right back to the
Blue Screen.

It is in normal mode, it won't allow me to use Safe Mode.

The number after NTFS is a 2.

I have a Dell 8400, BIos version A03, Also, Windows XP Home
Edition, Version 2002, SP3. Pentium (r) 4 CPU 3.20 GHZ, 3.19 GHz
,1.00 GB Ram. Unfortunately, I don't have my disc here, it is in
storage. I recently moved in with my daughter and most of my
things are packed away.
BY the way, I always get a message that says my wireless adapter
isn't connected, but it is.
Any other suggestions?

Hi Gerry,
Thanks for your help. I overlooked checking the capacitors.
Apparently, I didn't see that message. I will have to get my
son-in-law to take it apart. I will let you know how I made out
after I get this done. Once again, thanks, you have been very
helpful Paula

Hi Gerry,
I'm sorry to keep pestering you. We checked the capacitors and
everything looked fine. I have done everything you asked me to.

The only thing I haven't done is "Disable BIOS memory options such as
caching or Shadowing" which was on the Blue Screen. I don't know how
to do this. Could you tell me how?

If that doesn't work, should I bite the bullet and get a new computer?

Thanks,
Paula
