Blue file names in Win Explorer XP

Hi,
I wonder why some of the files that are displayed in Windows Explorer are
blue in colour whereas most are black. My CD ROM has an explanation mark in
the device icon. One of the cdrom.sys files are coloured blue and I wonder
if it because the file has moved and can not be found.

What are the implications of filenames that are shown in blue and how does
one correct this state if they are to be corrected or located?

I am using XP Home SP1 on a Sony laptop.

Any explanation is appreciated.

Chris

Blink,
Typically, blue files are files that are compressed using Windows XP file
compression (not the same as a zip file, though). Right click on one of the
files and see if the Compressed checkbox next to one of them is checked.
Having the filenames in blue text is just a visual way of letting you know
they are compressed. There's nothing wrong with them.

Hi,
Thanks, so that what it is about, thank you very much Kelly and BigMac.
This has baffled me for some time.

Kind regards,
Chris
