Blue error message when I start McAfee

I have XP home. I get a blue screen error message when I try to open Mcafee
virus scan and is says that I need to make sure all hardware and software are
installed correctly. I asked a mcafee tech and he said to uninstall and
reinstall all components. Did that. Did not work. What should I do?

Thanks!

This is my second try to post this. Hope it goes thru. Here is the message
from the blue screen when I try to open McAfee.

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage
to your computer.

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If
this is a new installation, ask your hardware manufacturer for any windows
updates you might need.

If problem continues, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or
software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.
