Bloodhound.Exploit.6

Hello, can you please answer this question. I have installed service pack one
and then service pack two. Also i have nortons anti virus on my computer.

I have been infected by bloodhound.exploit 6 and as i have installed service
pack 1 and 2, would the patch to correct this have been installed via these
updates.

I ask because even though outlook express 6.0 has been pre-installed, if i
try to download one of the patches on the security page for the above named
virus, a box comes up to tell me that i need to install outlook express 6.0.

I realise that this forum is not for outlook express, but i am sure that
somebody would have this answer.

thanks

Jeff

I suppose scanning the machine would answer that question but in all
prbability no. There is a newsgroup for Outlook Express 6.
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress.

George, thanks for the reply, i have tried to go to the newsgroup that you
have listed but it is not found by microsoft.

So, even though i have put service pack 1 and 2 on my computer and run a
scan for all updates and was told by microsoft that there are no new
availabile updates, i am still not protected from this bloodhound.exploit 6
virus.

Use a news reader such as Microsoft Outlook Express to make a new News
account. Microsoft's NNTP server is msnews.microsoft.com. It's anonymous
no password required not secure. You'll find this much easier then the Web
based newsgroups at Microsoft. The group I gave you is there and I spelled
it correctly!!!

Microsoft got out of the Anti-Virus market almost 10 years ago.
