Blank screen after login

I am getting only blue blank screen after I login to the
2000 server. It stays at this screen indefinitely. I tried
running explorer.exe from the task manager, running SP4
again and it dies as well half way down asking to run the
emergency repair disk. Tried renaming the SHDOCVW.dll,
SHELL32.dll and no luck either according to TECHNET. We
never created the ERD during the setup. I cannot use ERD
from another 2000 server as the registry will corrupt the
entire system. Any suggestions or ideas will be extremely
helpful.

Thanks.

Hi Steve,

I have already tried the settings from both the articles and to no avail. Any other ideas?
