Blank page shows up

When I visit a page like
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ I get a blank page but if I add the
default.asp at the end of the address it shows up.

I am running ie 6 sp1 on win NT 4.0 SP 6
Hmmmm, I wonder if good old NT4 hasn't reached some kind of support limit?
Perhaps its default page lookup does not include .asp and other newer page
types?? It's possible.
There was a problem with NT4 and the webserver not being able to generate
asp pages
http://www.wown.com/j_helmig/nt4pwsas.htm
and
http://www.asp101.com/wrox/asp2samp/2459ch01.asp
Perhaps if you install the NT server it might make them show up??

Don't know. That doesn't explain why ie 5.5 was working
correctly before upgrading to 6.
