Hi

Reset the security settings on the BITS service and see
if it helps:

http://groups.google.com/[email protected]

(the 'sc sdset bits "D:(A;;CC...' part in the link above)

If the link above displays posts from several people, use
this one instead:

http://groups-beta.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsupdate/msg/1398b5a7bcb8f37c?dmode=source

Then, after the above, do the following:

Click Start >> Run >>
Type the follow command in the Open box.
"regsvr32.exe qmgr.dll" (w/o quotes)
Press Ok

Repeat the same for the following command:

regsvr32.exe qmgrprxy.dll

Now i get Error number: 0x800A01AD

Whats the problem?
Hi

See if this one helps:

When searching for available updates on the Windows Update site,
you see the 0x800A01AD error while looking for updates
http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5consumer/showarticle.aspx?articleid=13&ln=en

If that didn't help, try this one:

You may receive an error message when you search for available
updates on the Windows Update Web site
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=883821

<quote>
0x800A01AD error code
To resolve this error, register the Wuaueng.dll file. To do this,
follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type regsvr32 Wuaueng.dll, and then
click OK two times.
</quote>

Do the same fot this two DLLs as well:

qmgr.dll
qmgrprxy.dll
