I downloaded the BIOS Update P4P81014.AMI

Do i rename to p4p81014.ROM?

I can't get this to install either. Given up now and gone back to...
whatever I was doing before. I am on version 4 of the BIOS so maybe you
can't jump from 4 to 14.

Only if you are not using ASUS Update. See item 2 in the release notes.
