Big problem with A7N8X Deluxe (twice on two boards)

Okay, I'm a little PO'ed now...

A month or so ago, my a7n8x Deluxe v1.0x died on me. Wouldn't boot at all.
tried 3 cpus (Duron 700 / XP 2100+ / Barton 2500+) and no go. Since I had
some of my *important* stuff on 2 S-ATA Barracudas (in Raid 0), I had to get
some way to get my data back, and more importantly, I didn't want to
continue using my brain-dead el cheapo Mobo (the older one I had).

So, I tried to bring the board back, but the store had closed down. Since I
needed my stuff back, I shelled out another 200$ (CA), and got myself the
same board, but v2.0.

It has been working fine for around a month. Operating 24/7 (tried
overclocking, but brought it back down to stock speeds last week). Now I
come back tonight, the system was frozen. I reset the computer, no boot. I
was able to go into the BIOS twice (it defaulted to 100 Mhz FSB). I tried to
set it up at 166 again, but wouldn't boot into windows. Went back into BIOS,
set FSB back at 100.

But now the &^%$# board wont POST at all...

2 dead boards. seems like some BIOS corruption. It won't even boot on the
boot-block recovery. I'm pissed, tired, and have two dead boards now serving
as paperweights.

I know I can get a P4 board with the SiI 3112 S-ATA controller (get data
back, get new board & new CPU).

But it's kinda expensive. Any quick way to revive one of them? Or RMA them
cheaply?

Was about to put the hammer to both boards 10 minutes ago, but I figured
those boards are probably flaky. Any experiences RMAing stuff to ASUS?

BTW, I'm now using a crappy ECS board.

(strange thing is it may not be fast, but seems a lot more reliable than
ASUS for now...)

God typed:

Two things: 1. ECS does not make crap motherboards, trust me, and 2. RMA the
2 Asus mainboards, via the reseller in your area, and get some replacement.
Best regards.

I think the duron 700 will damage the board, Read the instructions, Mine
says not to use a chip that's that slow internally...
