Beta testers called

G

GHBeta

Hi,
I am looking for beta testers to test my product, PrintTuner which
is available at this site:-
http://www.graphicshighway.com

As a tester you would get a license of my product as a gesture for your
efforts.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Thanks
GraphicsHighway Team

If the program you are wanting us to act as beta testers for is freeware
(this IS a freeware newsgroup), why would it require a licence?
If it is not freeware (and your site would indicate that it is indeed a
commercial product), then it is totally off-topic here and what the hell
are you doing touting it in this newsgroup?

Note: "Free Trial" offers do not in any way make it freeware!

Many freeware apps require you to at least agree to the terms of a (free)
licence.

Indeed that is so. However, is that what a careful examination of the
website suggested to you was the case in this instance? No, I didn't
think you had bothered to look prior to shooting from the lip.

Perhaps you should think without speaking rather than speak without
thinking?

Since the program mentioned obviously *isn't* freeware why bother with your
smarmy post in the first place, other than to show what a smartass you can
be? Ready to take your foot out of your mouth yet?

If I did anything with my foot, turkey, it would be to jam it up your
fanny ... but I value my foot more than to risk losing it like that, I
might catch something unpleasant.

No need to be rude, hot-headed fellow. This newsgroup is for
discussing, announcing, recommending, praising and criticizing free
software only. It's not a forum for beta testers of $ware, and not for
announcing (new versions of) such software either.

Correct, but some people here would be interested in testing a
software program if it meant they could get it free of charge.

Agreed, but the OP wasn't announcing a new version of his software.
Only that he wanted people to test it.

It would however have been better for the OP to mark his post "OT"
perhaps.

Regards, John.

The "some people here would be interested" argument can be used to
justify posting anthing at all here.

Now Now lets get along. Alot of the best apps go from freeware to
shareware.
Programmers need to eat!.
I have a lot of programs that are freeware yet "a license of my product
as a gesture for your
efforts."

I do alot of beta testing as does CoMa Note to autor it would be nice
to see freeware versions.
I have designed a few programs for my friend Chris Parry
http://wave.prohosting.com/ctrs/ C.T.R.S. Is my idea, but Chris coded
it.

I am not greedy, he recives 75% of the profit I 25%.
And other idea's for apps I always ask for a freeware version and a
shareware so the coder can make some money for there time and effort.

In this New Year remember as my mother use to say: you get more
'honey's with sugar' than vinegar!.
This does not promote freeware, it hurts it!.
