BCM not ready for Prime Time...

Imported all the business contacts from ACT! into BCM without any problems..
But now everything has gone horribly wrong... All the attachments, notes, are gone on all the contacts replaced by the content of the Inbox (on all of them...) I have no idea what happened..

Is there a discussion group that concentrates more on BCM? because I see a lot of problems coming... The Help files are just a mere set of questions with no real answers on how to do a lot of things that were possible in ACT! If there is not going to be any support from MSFT then I guess it will be back to ACT!

This is the correct group for BCM questions. If you're seeing the Inbox instead of your history, that usually means that part of the application has not loaded. The data hasn't been lost, it's just not visible in the individual contact. The first thing to try is restarting Outlook. If you see any other symptoms, let us know.

I'm working steadily on a BCM FAQ at http://www.slipstick.com/bcm/bcmfaq.aspx, so feel free to submit questions and ideas through the feedback link there.

Sue, thanks for your suggestions... Outlook has been opend of some time (at least three hours), so I do not know how long do one need to wait for it to load the data..
When I open the folder list all the notes are in the history folder but not linked to an individual business contact, It used to be that when you had a business contact opened you could add to the history of that contacts, notes or attachments, but how the drop down window does not open and only the Inbox is visible..
So I am at a lost to explain what went wrong... The Import from ACT! worked (just the Business contacts), created the appropiate accounts and linked the Business contacts to them, and everything looked good until Yesturaday that everything changed..

I did visit your website looking for answers but as you explained BCM is so new that it seems nobody knows what to expect..

What you should try is restarting Outlook. That's the only way to get an add-in to reload itself.

Sorry about that... Sue, if by restarting Outlook you mean shuting it down and restating the program... we have done that several times... Outlook does not remain open the whole day, just when we need to send an e-mail, or get an address, or add a task, etc... and when done it is to the exits..
But nothing has fixed the problem of the Inbox on the Business Contacts instead of the notes and attachments...
We have run resetfolders, cleanprofile, etc... but still nothing.

Check the registry -- HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\Microsoft.BusinessSolutions..eCRM.OutlookAddin.Connect.1. The value for LoadBehavior needs to be 3. If it's anything else, make a registry backup, update the value to 3, then restart Outlook.
