BCM - Why is it now broken? BMC ready for prime time?

Rob Schneider

I had a account, call it Acme. I had three contacts defined for Acme. I
had emails and Account History started.

Now ... it's all gone! I press the Add button for contact, and nothing
happens.

Sigh. I assume I've done something wrong. I am chagrined that I *could*
have done something wrong.

Is BCM ready for prime time?

I don't know that I would call it ready for prime time. But clear your forms
cache and see if that fixes the problem. Go to Tools, OPtions, Other tab.
Click Advanced Options, Custom Forms, Manage Forms, Clear Forms Cache.

Thanks Patricia. I didn't see this response until after I had to do a
re-boot of machine (to reconnect to LAN correctly). Upon reboot, all
the connections between Accounts and Business Contacts returned. I
turned out that before the reboot I noticed that *all* BCM connections
were were lost. After re-boot, they all seem to come back.

Conclusion: BCM not ready for "prime time". Worth every penny I paid
for it ... (came for free, I guess, with Office). Maybe there will be
some updates at some point.

All of us who were excited about BCM hope that V.2 (whenever that might be)
improves upon V.1 significantly. I would encourage you to send an email to
(e-mail address removed) with a subject of BCM and detail improvements you'd
like. They do get read by the product team.

OK ... will do (my data links gone again ... all of them ... in BCM).
Sigh.

Patricia,

Lost the links again ... tried this and didn't have affect. Just
thought I'd close the loop.

As suggested by Sue Mosher, I'll report this as a support incident ...
this is a major flaw (and i don't think that I've done anything to cause
this).
